I have a small home.

I have six chairs at my dinner table.

And yet none of them seemed to mind one bit. At one point in the evening, I apologized to my guests because I saw that some of them were standing while eating, and they said so casually, “No, it’s nothing. In Mexico, we have big get-togethers all the time, and we are used to standing around while we eat. We don’t worry about having enough chairs.” That was a big moment for me: I realized that I had set limitations on my small house that didn’t need to exist. I had such a great time that night. Great fun, great food, great people. No stagnant water that night.
